Job Description
Next Level Staffing is currently recruiting for a client located in Hartland.
Hours: 2pm-10pm; Monday - Friday
- Sets up and operates Blanchard grinding machines with vertical spindle and rotating table to grind flat surfaces of metal workpieces, such as steel plate, fabrications, castings, and machine parts, usually for limitied runs, analyzing specifications and selecting segmets (tooling) according to knowledge of grinding procedures: studies blueprint to visualize grinding to be done and plans of sequence of operations.
- positions and secures workpieces on magnetic chuck, in holding fixture, or directly to machine table.
- selects grinding segments, grinding speeds, and feed rates for each operation according to knowledge of metal properties and abrasives, and mounts of segments on chuck.
- verifies dimentions of ground workpiece for conformance to specifications, using such measuring instruments as micrometers, comparators, dial indicators, gauge blocks,
Basic Qualifications:
- ability to perform close tolerance work
- able to do setups, wheel changeover and wheel dressing
- willing to work overtime
- experience with close tolerance production grinding on Blanchard grinding machines
