As we continue scaling, we’re looking for a hands-on Director of Finance to help strengthen and mature our financial infrastructure while supporting our accounting and reporting needs.
Position Overview
The Director of Finance will play a key role in managing day-to-day finance operations while helping build scalable systems and processes to support growth. This role will oversee and guide accounting staff through the month-end close, cash management, and reporting functions, while also rolling up their sleeves to execute core financial tasks and cash management. The ideal candidate has experience in high-growth, multi-entity organizations and brings both operational excellence and a builder’s mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End Close (MEC): Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Serve as primary contact for financial audits related to revenue recognition and yearly compliance audits.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Review AP aging reports, manage vendor payments, and identify opportunities to improve payment processes and cash flow.
- Cash Forecasting: Lead weekly and monthly cash forecasting to provide visibility into liquidity and support business decision-making.
- Progressive FP&A or strategic finance experience in high-growth or dynamic environments,
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently see issues through to resolution.
- Systems & Processes: Drive improvements in accounting and reporting processes, leveraging automation and technology to scale efficiently.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review program-level and corporate financial statements, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports to support decision-making
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations and leadership teams to align financial reporting with business performance and strategic goals.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills to clearly articulate financial data into actionable insights to various non-finance stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Program Finance: Strategize and collaborate with each vertical owner enhancing profitability, creating framework for profitability measures, and owning financial operations to support verticals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven success in month-end close management, cash forecasting, and AP oversight.
- Experience working with multi-entity or multi-location organizations preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and improve processes, policies, and controls in a growing environment.
- Comfortable working in a fractional or part-time capacity, with a willingness to balance strategic oversight and tactical execution.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a collaborative, proactive approach.
