About Us

NXL powers loyalty and commerce experiences for some of the country’s leading brands. Our platform connects merchandising, rewards, and financial systems through modern, API-first architecture, and we’re growing fast. If you thrive at the intersection of engineering, product, and strategy, this role is built for you.

The Role

As our Integrations Lead, you’ll be the technical backbone connecting NXL’s internal systems, third-party vendors, and external partners. You’ll champion the end-to-end integration lifecycle, from technical decisions and vendor governance through delivery, documentation and ongoing reliability. A leader versed in AI-Assisted Velocity / AI Governance.

This is a real cross-functional authority. Less about writing production code every day, more about making the right technical and governance decisions that keep our platform resilient, secure, and scalable as we grow. Serves as a proactive leader who anticipates business needs, defines the path forward, and guides others.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Communication

  • Be transformational – Meet (listens intently); Involve creates the forum to share thoughts/ideas and discuss issues); Mobilize! (sees the possibilities & influences action/change). Responsible for developing strategic solutions that evolve the platform to deliver business and client value.
  • Exhibits a Growth Mindset.
  • Personifies a passion for new ideas, thoughts, & opportunities for growth – exhibited by consistently initiating value-added thoughts, ideas & solutions. Drives cross-functional execution without needing direct authority. Build and maintain effective relationships
  • Skillful at modeling/leading interdependency, collaboration & two-way communications.
  • A solutions practitioner, nimble, approachable, open to different points of view (mental agility), with a keenness to adapt (to situations and people) and exhibit Emotional Intelligence.
  • Strong appetite for accomplishments and results.
  • Strong written communication: technical documentation (mermaid, sequence diagrams, api specs), runbooks, and executive summaries

Technical Design

  • Create and be responsible for the integration blueprint across our API-first, event-driven ecosystem
  • Orchestration and choreography of technical approaches and internal/external team’s
  • Build error handling and idempotency strategies so processes recover cleanly from partial failures
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, modular technical designs

Trusted Partner Relationships (Vendor & Partner)

  • Review third-party API documentation, validating auth schemes (SAML, OAuth2), rate limits, and data contracts
  • Lead technical contract negotiations: data formats, update frequencies, SLAs
  • Bridge modern JSON/REST vendors with legacy XML or file-based environments
  • Provide oversight and coordination for external vendor development teams

Driving Platform Reliability & Security

  • Enforce operational and development best practices
  • Design resilience patterns that isolate vendor failures before they impact customers
  • Apply fraud detection and eCommerce security best practices to integration touchpoints
  • Stay current on cybersecurity threats and compliance standards; resolve issues proactively

Lead Delivery & Governance

  • Drive forward the integration roadmap from prioritization through implementation, scaling, and deprecation
  • Define success KPIs and communicate platform readiness to executive stakeholders
  • Maintain integration documentation: system maps, data flows, runbooks, key contacts
  • Partner with Product to surface platform enhancements that accelerate partner onboarding
