Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to join our dedicated team. This position is ideal if you're looking for flexible work. PRN means you'll be offered shifts when coverage is needed, such as call offs, vacations, new client starts, or additional staffing needs. You choose the shifts that fit your availability. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive the support needed to live fulfilling, independent lives. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient monitoring and observation to ensure safety and well-being.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including medication administration and vital signs monitoring.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking, ensuring dietary needs are met for residents' health and safety
- Document client progress and any changes in condition while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Engage clients in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and independence
- Transport client into the community/Dr appointments
Requirements
Must meet all Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred.
- Background in caregiving, home health, assisted living, or long-term care is advantageous.
- Up to date DSP certificate is required
- Up to date First Aid and CPR certificate is required.
- Familiarity with patient care techniques including heavy lifting and patient observation is essential.
- Ability to prepare meals that meet dietary restrictions as needed.
- Must be 18 years old
- Must have reliable vehicle
- Valid drivers license and valid car insurance
- 5 point or less on driving record
- Must have High School Diploma/G.E.D or college transcripts
- Background check required
