Job Description: Stairlift & Wheelchair Ramp Installer / Technician
About the Role: Join the team at Next level Accessibility to help improve the lives and mobility of our clients. We are looking for a reliable, technically-skilled Installer/Technician to handle the assembly, installation, and maintenance of accessibility equipment including wheelchair ramps, stairlifts, and other home mobility solutions across New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation: Assemble and install aluminum modular ramps and motorized stairlifts in residential and commercial settings.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical issues with existing accessibility equipment.
- Site Evaluation: Confirm measurements and site readiness before beginning installation.
- Customer Education: Provide a clear, friendly walkthrough for clients on how to safely operate their new equipment.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a safe work area and ensure the client's home is left clean and professional upon completion.
Requirements & Skills:
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, carpentry, or mechanical installation is required. Experience specifically with accessibility equipment is a major plus.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to use power tools, read levels/tape measures accurately, and basic understanding of low-voltage electrical systems.
- Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions (for ramp installs).
- Professionalism: Excellent communication skills and a respectful attitude when working inside clients' homes.
- Logistics: Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
