Role Description The Independent Group Health Insurance Agent is a contract role responsible for selling and servicing group health insurance solutions through NHP’s platform. This hybrid role is based in Madison, TN, with flexibility to perform some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying employer groups, advising organizations on appropriate health insurance and benefit options, and presenting customized solutions using NHP’s digital marketplace and tools. The agent will build and maintain relationships with clients and partner agencies, manage renewals, and provide ongoing support on coverage, claims, and plan changes. The role also involves staying current on industry trends, compliance requirements, and carrier offerings to ensure accurate guidance and high-quality client service.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Insurance Brokerage and Insurance, with experience advising group clients on benefit solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Health Insurance products, including plan design, underwriting basics, and employer-sponsored benefits.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and professional client interaction.
- Valid insurance producer license (health/accident) in Tennessee or the ability to obtain appropriate licensure prior to start.
- Proven ability to work independently in a contract, commission-based environment while collaborating with partners and internal teams.
- Comfort with digital platforms, CRM systems, and online enrollment tools; willingness to learn new technology solutions.
