Job Overview
The Dental Front Office Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in the daily operations of the practice. Responsibilities include scheduling, patient communication, insurance processing, payment processing, and maintaining accurate patient accounts. Our hours are 8:00-4:00 Monday to Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in/check out patients in a friendly, professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage provider calendars
- Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits
- Collect copays and process patient payments
- Post payments and manage daily financial transactions
- Send patient statements and follow up on outstanding balances
- Assist with basic insurance claims follow-up as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records in practice management software
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handle patient questions and provide excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of dental front office experience preferred
- Experience with Open Dental software strongly preferred
- Knowledge of dental insurance verification and billing
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and office technology
- Associates degree preferred; equivalent dental office experience will be considered in place of a degree
