What to Expect
Skilled Construction Data Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic team at Tesla. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing project management processes by integrating Power BI into the existing systems. Your primary focus will be on reducing data redundancies, developing insightful reports, and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance decision-making and efficiency across construction projects. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in data visualization tools and a strong understanding of construction project controls, contributing to Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy through streamlined operations.
What you’ll do
- Integrate Power BI into Project Systems: Lead the implementation and customization of Power BI dashboards within construction project management tools to consolidate data sources, eliminate redundancies, and ensure real-time data flow from various project tracking systems.
- Develop Reports and Visualizations: Design and build interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI that provide clear insights into project metrics, such as timelines, budgets, resource allocation, tailored to the needs of construction teams and stakeholders.
- Establish KPIs and Metrics: Define, track, and refine KPIs relevant to construction projects (e.g., cost variance, schedule adherence, safety compliance) using Power BI to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and support proactive adjustments.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Training: Work closely with project managers and field engineers to gather requirements, present findings through Power BI reports, and provide training to team members on utilizing the new tools effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze report usage and feedback to iteratively enhance Power BI integrations, ensuring scalability for large-scale construction initiatives and alignment with Tesla's operational goals.
What you’ll bring
- Experience: 5 years of experience in project controls within the construction or engineering industry, with at least 2 years hands-on with Power BI. Proven track record of integrating BI solutions to reduce data redundancies in project environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Power BI (Power Query, data modeling), SQL for data extraction, and familiarity with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, or Oracle Aconex).
- Analytical Abilities: Strong ability to develop KPIs, analyze complex datasets, and translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations.
