Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, boomlifts, bulldozers, loaders, forklifts, and other construction machinery.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems such as wiring harnesses, sensors, switches, and control modules.
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, undercarriage components, basic lube maintenance and HVAC units.
- Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently.
- Carry out fabrication tasks including welding, assembly, and modifications to meet operational requirements.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance such as lubrication, fluid changes, grease, and preventive inspections.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic software to complete repairs with precision.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations while providing excellent customer service to internal teams or clients.
- Assist with heavy lifting operations when required and support the training of junior technicians or apprentices.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background working with heavy construction machinery is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in equipment troubleshooting across various systems including hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, and diesel engines.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and metalworking in a maintenance setting.
- Familiarity with OEM schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools specific to heavy equipment brands like Caterpillar or similar manufacturers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, trailers, boomlifts, excavators, forklifts, and other construction machinery.
- Experience in electrical diagnostics combined with automotive diagnostics skills is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections.
- Knowledge of water trucks and air systems.

Pay: $28.52 - $45.00 per hour
