Next-Door K9 Solutions is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kennel Technician to join our team. Our kennel techs play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of every dog in our care. This position is ideal for someone who loves working hands-on with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Care for and handle a variety of dogs daily, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and feeding stations to maintain a spotless facility.
- Feed, water, and monitor dogs according to individualized care instructions.
- Assist trainers with exercise, socialization, and enrichment activities.
- Observe and report any behavioral or health changes to management or trainers promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, cleaning, and dog activity.
- Support daily facility upkeep including laundry, waste management, and restocking supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and their pets.
Requirements
- Passion for working with animals and a commitment to their care and safety.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, and energy levels safely and confidently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, cleaning, and bending.
- Previous experience in kennels, veterinary offices, or dog training facilities preferred but not required.
- Flexible schedule availability, including some weekends and holidays.
