Position Overview
Next Door is seeking a compassionate, student-centered Part-Time School Psychologist who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, families, and educators. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a collaborative Student Support Services team dedicated to ensuring high-quality, inclusive programming for all students.

Reporting to the Director of Student Support Services, the School Psychologist plays a vital role in supporting student success across academic, behavioral, and social-emotional domains. This position is ideal for a professional who values relationship-building, systems-level impact, and hands-on support within a school-based setting.

 

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead psycho-educational and formal behavior assessments; write quality, compliant assessment reports.
  • Attend IEP meetings; present assessment findings to the team.
  • Assist in the implementation of assessment recommendations as needed.
  • Participate in the pre-referral process and provide consultation to school teams regarding intervention supports for struggling students.
  • Work with parents to build knowledge of disability and inclusive support for students with disabilities.
  • Assist in providing consultation and advice to administrators, teachers, and parents regarding the general and special educational programs as appropriate.
  • Assist in coordinating, communicating and seeking consultation with community agencies as appropriate.
  • Maintain a compliant practice.
  • Implementing consultation, collaboration, creation, and implementation of 504 plans
  • Implementation on additional consultation around social emotional and behavioral systems and structures
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Director of Student Support Services.
Qualifications:
  • Required: Valid state credential; Master's degree in School Psychology.

  • WI DPI State License.

  • Nationally Certified School Psychologist credential (preferred).

  • Experience working in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.

  • Experience working with Charter School K4 students.

  • Experience working with students with a range of disabilities (learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, autism, etc.) (highly preferred).

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Commitment to special education inclusion model and overall mission to close the achievement gap within our lifetime.

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive in a work environment that is still evolving.

  • Ability to perform a variety of specialized and responsible tasks: maintain records, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, other school personnel, meet schedule and compliance deadlines.

 

Special Position Requirements

  • Possession of a valid driver's license, and a driving record meeting the driver selection standards as established by Next Door.

  • Ability to have regular use of an insured, privately owned vehicle on a daily basis, and the ability to conduct off site visits.

  • Must have liability insurance of $100,000/$300,000 on first day of employment.

  • Ensure knowledge of each assigned child’s location at all times.

Physical Demands 

  • Primarily active work; occasionally lifting up, holding or moving up to 50 lbs.

Physical Activity   

  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, sitting on the floor, walking/transporting, handling, feeling reaching, climbing, balancing, crouching, crawling, talking and speaking clearly, hearing conversation level, tasting, smelling and seeing; ability to interact daily with children outdoors in varied weather condition.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and Early Childhood Center setting with some travel between sites as required. 

Personal/Physiological

  • Ability to make frequent, significant decisions to understand and react to the development process of children.  

  • Ability to respond quickly and competently to an emergency or crisis situation in order to keep children safe.

Salary : $100,000 - $300,000
