Mechanical Engineer
Hartford, CT (Onsite) | Full Time | $90k-130k
Company & Role
An established specialist manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team. This role will suit a hands-on engineer who wants to be involved across the full product lifecycle, from maintaining existing designs through to creating new products from the ground up and supporting them into production. You will work closely with senior engineering and manufacturing teams in a practical product development environment, with exposure to mechanical design, documentation, testing, certification and production support.
What You Will Work On
- Design and develop mechanical products using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Maintain and improve existing product designs
- Lead new product development from concept through to production
- Support aluminum casting development and plastic injection molded parts
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to bring products into full production
- Support product certification and testing activities
- Maintain detailed engineering documentation, design records and modifications
- Assist with electrical assembly, test equipment and hands-on product support
- Work across varied engineering assignments in a busy manufacturing environment
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 2-7 years’ Mechanical Engineering experience ideally
- Strong SolidWorks experience is essential
- Good mechanical design fundamentals
- Experience with product design, manufacturing support or new product development
- Comfortable working hands-on around production, assembly and test environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision
