What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist position at NexOne, Inc.?
The Logistics Specialist provides the following shop stock support to the Wideband SATCOM Operations Center (WSOC) facilities located in Fort Meade, Maryland and Fort Detrick, Maryland:
- Performs inventory related work in accordance with the Contractor-Inventory Control Point (C-ICP) requirements as implemented on WSOTS II.
- Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
- Holds ability to handle items (up to 45 lbs.) utilizing proper lifting techniques and material handling aids (e.g. pallet jacks, height adjustable carts, etc.) and may operate a forklift upon receipt of internal certification.
- Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
- Supports two locations in Maryland; Ft Detrick and Ft Meade
- Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- Works with military supply personnel onsite.
- Knowledge of safe material handling practices and ability to maintain compliance with L3Harris specific Environment Health and Safety policy/procedures in regard to material handling.
- Performs annual inventory of all Government property on contract as well as supporting sample inventory every 30 days with the Government customer

Acquisition
- Trained in the use of government-centric (GSCC) and private sector applications (MET-SSS) and networks.
- Orders products through both government-centric and private sector applications and networks.
Shipping
- Tracks and records all incoming shipments.
- Responsible for dealing with shipping companies when merchandise was found to be damaged or lost.
- Routes incoming shipments to the proper department or warehouse section.
- Responsible for the cataloguing of shop stock (consumable inventory).
- Retrieves customer orders and packaged orders for shipment.
- Prepares shipping documents and mailing labels.
- Verifies correctness and integrity of shipments.
Receiving
- Maintains records on destination charges and weight on all outgoing freight.
- Responsible for the filing warranty claims for faulty equipment.
- Verifies rate charges.
- Verifies that orders were filled correctly.
Inventory
- Performs quarterly and annual inventories.
- Facilitates equipment turn-in and disposition.
- Records items removed from inventory.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Experience working in a warehouse and/or production environment
- Experience with C-ICP inventory management is a plus.
- Experience with inventory and barcoding, cycle counts, and reconciliation
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Working with US Air Force supply functions
- Familiar with FAR 52.245 and government property requirements
- NPMA Certification
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Familiar with MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
- Experience with MRP and Agile/PDM software tools
- Organizational skills
