Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mold Maker I to support mold fabrication, repair, and maintenance activities for Injection, EPP, and Insert molds. The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of senior mold makers, gaining hands-on experience in machining, assembly, troubleshooting, and precision toolmaking. This is an excellent opportunity to grow technical skills and advance within a professional mold manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disassemble and assemble molds safely, efficiently, and without damage.
- Work on Injection, EPP, and Insert molds under the direction of senior mold makers.
- Disassemble and assemble hot runner systems, including wiring and multimeter testing.
- Accurately use and read micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC machines, manual mills, lathes, sinker EDM, and surface grinders safely and effectively.
- Utilize basic MasterCam programming skills.
- Perform mold repairs, maintenance, and new mold builds as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of all tools, machines, and work areas.
- Follow all safety standards, wear PPE, and participate in safety programs.
- Support continuous improvement and participate in training to advance mold-making skills.
- Communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and demonstrate accountability for quality and productivity.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mold making, repair, or maintenance.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Competence in shop math (decimals, fractions, basic calculations).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Proficient in English communication (oral and written).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in mold making or related work.
- Ability to conceptualize mold designs or improvements.
- Experience using forklifts or shop support equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
