Job Description: Director of Cardiovascular ServicesOverview
We are seeking a dynamic Director of Cardiovascular Services (DCS) to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for a comprehensive Cardiovascular Service Line. This leader will oversee cardiac catheterization services, vascular care, and related cardiovascular programs, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Operational Leadership
- Serve as the executive leader for all aspects of the Cardiovascular Service Line.
- Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive strategic plan for cardiovascular services across ambulatory, acute, post-acute, and community settings.
- Drive improvement in clinical outcomes, cost efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative programs to enhance quality and operational performance.
Clinical & Quality Oversight
- Partner with quality teams to ensure accreditation compliance, regulatory readiness, and advancement toward high reliability.
- Oversee program evaluation, clinical outcomes initiatives, and performance metrics.
- Support 24/7 STEMI program performance and catheterization lab operations.
Collaboration & Relationship Management
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leaders to strengthen care coordination and service delivery.
- Work closely with service line leaders and system leadership to support integrated, patient-centered care across the continuum.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit, mentor, and develop cardiovascular and perioperative nursing staff.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Oversee staff education, competency validation, and adherence to clinical and safety standards.
Financial Management
- Ensure financial performance of the cardiovascular service line, including budgeting, cost management, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Optimize operational efficiency and resource utilization.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain reliable attendance and fulfill additional duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate organizational values through compassionate, patient-centered leadership.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current RN license (or eligibility for licensure)
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in Cardiovascular Services
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work effectively with cardiologists, surgeons, advanced practice providers, and anesthesia teams
- BLS and ACLS (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Experience in Cath Lab or Cardiovascular Program Operations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
