Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our organization as a Medical Biller in the mental health care space. As a Medical Biller, you will play a vital role in the revenue cycle management process by ensuring accurate and timely billing and reimbursement for medical services provided. Your primary responsibility will be to compile, review, and submit medical claims to insurance companies and other payers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures with a keen interest in learning about the mental health industry.
The position is initially in-office with the opportunity for hybrid or remote.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information for billing purposes.
- Prepare and submit medical claims electronically or by paper to insurance companies and other payers.
- Review accounts receivable aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and take appropriate actions for collection.
- Follow up on submitted claims to resolve any billing issues, denials, or rejections.
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to obtain missing information, clarify discrepancies, or address billing inquiries.
- Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements to reconcile payments and identify any underpayments or overpayments.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to billing activities, including claims, payments, and appeals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. (Associate's degree or certification in Medical Billing/Coding is preferred)
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to interact with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
