JOB SUMMARY
The Housekeeper/Room Attendant is the heart of the hotel’s operation, directly influencing the guest experience by ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas meet the high standards of cleanliness and reliability expected by Fairfield Inn & Suites and Marriott International. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to providing a warm, welcoming, and hygienic environment for every guest.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Room Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Clean an assigned board of rooms daily within allowed time constraints, adhering strictly to brand cleaning protocols and "Commitment to Clean" standards.
- Strip dirty linens and make beds perfectly with fresh linens, ensuring a crisp and inviting appearance.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including scrubbing tubs/showers, toilets, sinks, vanities, and polishing mirrors.
- Dust all furniture, fixtures, frames, vents, and window treatments.
- Vacuum carpets and mop hard floor surfaces.
- Empty trash containers and replace liners.
- Replenish guest room amenities (towels, toiletries, coffee/tea supplies, cups) to the correct par levels and arrangement.
Operational Efficiency & Support:
- Keep the housekeeping cart neatly organized, stocked, and secure throughout the shift.
- Visually inspect rooms for maintenance issues (e.g., burnt-out lightbulbs, leaky faucets, damaged furniture) and promptly report them to the Engineering department.
- Immediately turn in all items left behind by guests according to the hotel’s Lost & Found procedures.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of linen closets and supply storage areas.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects or cleaning public areas (lobby, fitness center, hallways) as assigned by management.
Safety & Compliance:
- Strictly adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals (SDS guidelines) and utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Follow key control procedures to ensure the security of guest rooms and hotel property.
- Maintain guest confidentiality and privacy at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Experience: Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar environment is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right attitude.
