iSupport Engineer (Second Shift) San Antonio, TX, TX Job Type Full-time Description NexGen Data Systems is seeking an iSupport Engineer to work second shift. This position supports DHA Medical Treatment Facilities and is responsible for addressing network outages and issues. This engineer will interact daily with the customer and must assist in real time. Roles & Responsibilities: Troubleshooting and resolving network issues in a timely manner with a variety of different network devices and protocols. Working in a team setting and making recommendations related to troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation. Effectively Interacting with multiple customers on a daily basis. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Requirements Desired/Required Skills: Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance required. DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications required. 4 + years’ relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred but not required. Strong working knowledge and relevant hands-on experience of routers, switches, firewalls, and virtual private network devices. A good understanding of TCP/IP regarding routing and subnetting. Must be a team player that can work under pressure with good written and oral communication skills. Experience with the following Network protocols and services: Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP), Access Control Lists, Layer 2 Switching, Spanning Tree, and Packet Analysis. Experience with the following a plus: Cisco Switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, or F5 Devices. A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority. Must be willing to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment.
