Electrical Designer | Logan, UT
Nexeo Staffing is hiring an Electrical Designer / Senior Electrical Designer for a full-time, on-site opportunity in Logan, UT. This position is with a company that designs and builds custom automated machinery, including systems used in manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, packaging, sorting, quality control, and other industrial applications.
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Designer/Drafter with experience creating electrical and instrumentation designs for industrial process control systems. This role may be filled at either the Designer or Senior Designer level, depending on experience, with pay adjusted accordingly. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from project requirements and engineering input to create accurate, standards-compliant drawing packages using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Responsibilities
- Create electrical design drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, single-line and three-line diagrams, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrumentation drawings
- Design control panel and enclosure layouts, including component placement, wire routing, and bills of material
- Apply electrical codes and industry standards, including NEC, NFPA 70/79, UL 508A, ISA, and IEC
- Create and revise drawings using AutoCAD 2D and produce 3D models/layouts in SolidWorks
- Generate cable schedules, terminal block layouts, wire numbering, and connection lists
- Review redlines, make drawing revisions, and maintain proper revision control
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, shop personnel, and field teams to resolve design issues
- Verify designs against specifications, vendor data, and field measurements
- Maintain organized drawing files and design documentation
- Occasionally work on the shop floor or visit project sites to verify installations or gather field measurements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Relevant electrical design, drafting, or industrial controls experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical drafting
- SolidWorks design experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings
- Understanding of wiring, instrumentation, control systems, and industrial electrical standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, project management, shop, and field teams
- Preferred:
- Associate degree or technical certification in electrical, drafting, or CAD
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks Electrical
- Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems and process control hardware
- Panel-building or field experience in an industrial environment
Pay
$22.00–$35.00 per hour
Schedule
Full Time | Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
