Position Overview:
The Property Management Accountant is responsible for the full accounting cycle of a portfolio of residential properties. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with property managers and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of residential properties
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assist with budgeting and variance analysis
- Support year-end audits and tax preparation
- Work closely with property managers to track property performance and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in residential property management
- Proficiency with property management accounting software (Yardi, AppFolio, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: Starting at $70,000 annually (DOE)
- Bonuses: Performance-based bonus structure
