- Assist in the: Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Culinary Department, its programs, policies and activities.
- Work with the dietitian to provide quality nutritional services.
- Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services.
- Ensure that appropriate levels of food supplies are available.
- Order supplies in a cost-effective and cost-efficient manner, as needed.
- Ensure equipment is maintained appropriately and, in conjunction with the Administrator, order replacement equipment, as necessary.
- Assist in the supervision of the culinary service personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 years of related experience in a food service department; experience in a long term or health care facility preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide culinary services appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents.
- Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff.
- Good leadership skills.
- Good computer skills.
