Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Project Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to provide comprehensive estimates that support the successful completion of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project scope and requirements, ensuring all aspects are covered in the estimate.
- Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and implement cost control measures as necessary.
- Prepare and review contracts related to construction projects, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies.
- Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid packages and responding to inquiries from potential bidders.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably within a similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, including site experience that informs accurate estimating practices.
- Familiarity with cost control methods and pricing strategies relevant to construction projects.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
