What are the responsibilities and job description for the ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST I- Radiology- Hudson Valley position at NewYork-Presbyterian?
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Sonography) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer, Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or eligible. (Employees have 12 months from date of hire to become certified.)
- Knowledge of medical diagnostic sonography, usually obtained by being a graduate of the committee of allied health education and accreditation (CAHEA) accredited sonography program (program length 9 months to two years) or equivalent required.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients, patient family members, physicians, and other health care providers.
- Analytical skills necessary to evaluate and perform diagnostic ultrasound exams.
- Organizational skills necessary to plan and implement several procedures simultaneously and to coordinate work within the unit and department.
- Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
- Prior experience in an inpatient setting
- At least 1 year of experience
