Important: This Is a Telecommunications Position. We are not hiring electricians for this position.

You do not need previous telecommunications or fiber experience. We are looking for individuals with the right attitude, work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn. We will teach you the technical skills necessary to succeed in the industry.

About the Position

As a Telecommunications Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians and construction crews while learning how to install, maintain, repair, and test fiber optic and telecommunications networks.

You will receive hands-on training and gain experience in:

• Fiber optic cable installation
• Underground telecommunications construction
• Aerial telecommunications construction
• Cable placement and routing
• Fiber optic infrastructure installation and maintenance
• Basic fiber testing and troubleshooting
• Reading utility maps, plans, and project documentation
• Job-site safety procedures
• Proper use and care of company tools and equipment

As you gain experience and demonstrate proficiency, you will have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and advance within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles across state lines, in accordance with applicable DOT regulations and company requirements
• Must be able to successfully complete a background check
• Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening
• Must be able to successfully complete a DOT physical and meet applicable DOT requirements
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Ability to bend, kneel, lift, stand, walk, and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods
• Ability to safely work around construction equipment and active work zones
• Construction, landscaping, utility, warehouse, military, mechanical, or other trade experience is a plus, but not required

Schedule

Monday–Thursday | 6:00 PM–4:00 AM

The position also includes:

• Rotating on-call responsibilities
• Occasional Friday or weekend work
• Occasional day-shift work based on project requirements

Candidates must be comfortable working the scheduled night shift.
