Newtown Savings Bank is seeking an experienced lending processing professional for the role of Loan Servicing Supervisor. The Supervisor is responsible for supervising and performing all activities related to Lending processing including review of new loans onboarded into INSIGHT, daily transactions, payoff process, the review of loan maintenance reports, and modifications. Must maintain effective controls to ensure that activities are documented and measured and meet internal regulatory and investor requirements to minimize risk. Challenge existing processes to maximize the efficiency of existing systems. This is an onsite opportunity at our corporate office in Newtown, CT. The role has a remote option of one day per week.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise requests in Contact Management and the general Servicing email box, which include payoffs, credit bureau disputes, and maintenance for transactions/corrections to ensure timely processing, resolution and completion.
- Supervise the payoff process which includes reviewing and verifying the accuracy of payoff requests, the preparation of releases and UCC’s, ordering Notes from various investors and the return of any overage checks, paid notes and collateral.
- Responsible for downloading MERS reports daily and deactivating paid off MERS loans.
- Supervise the consumer credit bureau reporting and ensure the monthly credit bureau tape is generated accurately and conduct a quarter review.
- Supervise E-Oscar credit bureau disputes and the resolution process with the credit bureau reporting agency and the customer according to regulatory guidelines.
- Responsible for the Successors in Interest process according to regulatory guidelines.
- Supervise the timely review of all new loans onboarded and modifications completed in INSIGHT.
- Supervise the review of various reports which include daily rate change letters, maintenance reports, daily critical reporting, , posting sheets and override decisions. This also includes Pre-Authorizations, adjustable-rate changes and credit line maintenance reports.
- Supervise the review of complex loans, transactions and the calculations of interest and billing.
- Responsible for daily balancing, general ledger balancing, CIP exceptions and Work in Process reports.
- Manage partial release, easements and various subordination requests, both internal and from others.
- Manage the timeliness of loan payoffs for investor reporting.
- Assist with residential construction modification documents according to the approved loan approval and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Challenge, develop and maintain updates to written procedures and processes.
- Assist with the initial review of the construction budget and the administration of residential construction loans; as needed.
- Assist staff with sensitive customer issues, professionally problem-solve and resolve the issue for both the customer and the bank.
- Responsible for system testing during annual releases of core upgrades. Train loan staff on enhancements as needed.
- Conduct biweekly department meetings with staff.
- Participate in various civic and community functions to further enhance the image of the bank and to network for continuous new business opportunities.
- Establish SMART goals, performs quarterly goal assessment and annual performance evaluations of direct reports, coaches and motivates them, recommends personnel actions and ensures that assigned tasks are completed within required timeframe.
- Support staff to reinforce the Habit of Success by guiding employees to consistently apply these principles in their daily responsibilities, decision making and customer interactions.
- Must be knowledgeable of all rules and regulations related to assigned functions and recommend updates as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is preferred, and a minimum of two to four years in loan servicing, or similar work experience.
- Must be able to work independently and have good communication skills and strong teamwork.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel and Word applications skills.
- Must understand Loan Servicing functions including the core loan system or have experience in other loan systems.
- The individual must maintain the utmost confidentiality on all bank matters.
