Position Title: 7th Grade Mathematics

School of Vacancy: Newtown Middle School

Starting Date: 2026-2027 School Year

Salary Range: Per teacher contract

Responsibilities: The teacher will provide mathematics instruction to students as
a member of a six person team and will perform other classroom
teaching duty assignments consistent with the requirements of the
position.

Interest in working in a high-performing district in a middle school
environment and commitment to promoting a positive culture;

• Ability to work with others in attaining team objectives and

accomplishing interdisciplinary objectives for students, including
technology integration;

• Evidence of thorough understanding of unique needs of adolescents

and how their characteristics impact curriculum and instruction;

• Evidence of expertise in working with children in a heterogeneous

classroom setting and ability to differentiate instruction;

• Familiarity of and/or experience in teaching mathematics and

understanding of best practices in mathematics; including Building
Thinking Classroom strategies

• Familiarity and/or experience in utilizing small group instruction to

support a wide-range of learners;

• Effective classroom management skills that promote a positive

learning environment;

• Willingness to participate in collaborative lesson planning;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
