Position Title: 7th Grade Mathematics
School of Vacancy: Newtown Middle School
Starting Date: 2026-2027 School Year
Salary Range: Per teacher contract
Responsibilities: The teacher will provide mathematics instruction to students as
a member of a six person team and will perform other classroom
teaching duty assignments consistent with the requirements of the
position.
- Current Mathematics Connecticut Certification (K-8, 4-8 or 7-12).
Interest in working in a high-performing district in a middle school
environment and commitment to promoting a positive culture;
- Ability to work with others in attaining team objectives and
technology integration;
- Evidence of thorough understanding of unique needs of adolescents
- Evidence of expertise in working with children in a heterogeneous
- Familiarity of and/or experience in teaching mathematics and
Thinking Classroom strategies
- Familiarity and/or experience in utilizing small group instruction to
- Effective classroom management skills that promote a positive
- Willingness to participate in collaborative lesson planning;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
