Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. Experience with POS systems, retail sales, and cash handling is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments accurately
- Maintain knowledge of store products for upselling and product demos
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues
- Promote store promotions and suggest additional products to customers (upselling)
- Support supervising staff during busy periods or when needed
- Follow proper phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience preferred, especially in grocery or retail stores
- Spanish speaking
- Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and transactions
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on positive interactions
