Performance Responsibilities
Essential Functions Of The Job
Ability to maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned
Ability to teach the lesson outlined and described in the substitute teacher's guide as prepared by the absent teacher
Qualifications
- Licensed in the State of Kansas
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board of education may find appropriate and acceptable

- Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
- Reviews with the principal or department head all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
- Teaches the lesson outlined and described in the substitute teacher's guide as prepared by the absent teacher.
- Consults as appropriate, with the building principal or department head before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the substitute teacher's guide.
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Writes a summary of the day's activities for the classroom teacher.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
