Position Summary:
The Newton Public Schools is seeking a College Work Study Student to support daily classroom routines in an elementary school setting. This position includes assisting teachers during lunch and recess, supporting small groups of students, and helping maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment under teacher supervision.
Responsibilities:

Supervise and engage with students during lunch and recess to ensure safety and positive social interactions.

Support classroom routines by preparing materials, organizing supplies, and assisting with transitions.

Provide coverage for staff lunch periods as needed.

Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and school staff.
Qualifications:

Eligible for Federal Work-Study funding.

Reliable, responsible, and able to follow directions from teachers and staff.

Demonstrated interest in working with children and supporting an educational environment.

Completion of an Associate’s degree or more than 48 college credits required.
Schedule and Compensation:

Part-time during school hours (maximum 18 hours per week).

Schedule to be determined based on the student’s class schedule and school needs.
