Role Description
NewSouth NeuroSpine is seeking a Board Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician to join our multidisciplinary spine practice in Flowood, Mississippi. The ideal candidate has advanced training or significant clinical experience in musculoskeletal medicine, sports medicine, conservative spine care, or a related specialty.
This physician will focus on the comprehensive evaluation and non-surgical management of spine and musculoskeletal conditions. The physician will play an active, hands-on role in diagnosing the underlying source of pain and dysfunction through detailed physical examinations, functional movement assessments, and evidence-based clinical evaluations. Working closely with neurosurgeons, spinal intervention and pain management specialists, advanced practice providers, and physical therapists, the physician will develop individualized treatment plans that restore function, improve mobility, reduce pain, and help patients return to the activities that matter most.
This physician values treating the whole patient, emphasizing movement, function, rehabilitation, and long-term outcomes rather than relying solely on medication management. The role is best suited for a collaborative physician who enjoys partnering with patients throughout their recovery while helping shape the future of comprehensive spine care.
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with the ability to manage a broad range of musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions.
- Strong knowledge of spine care, including evaluation and non-surgical management of spine disorders.
- Foundational competency in general Medicine relevant to comprehensive outpatient specialty care.
- Experience in rehabilitation planning, including coordination with physical therapy and other allied health services.
- Skills in Pain Management, including multimodal approaches and appropriate use of interventional and pharmacologic therapies.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and completion of an ACGME-accredited PM&R residency; board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Unrestricted or eligible Mississippi medical license and DEA registration.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary spine center, manage a busy outpatient schedule, and use electronic health records efficiently.
- Prior experience in spine-focused practice or fellowship training in spine or pain medicine is preferred but not required.
