What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piano Teacher position at Newsongs School of Music?
NewSongs School of Music is a growing, multi-campus music school in the Elk Grove and Sacramento areas serving hundreds of students of all ages. We're not your average music school. We're building a genuine community around music education, and we believe every student has something worth expressing. Our culture is creative, collaborative, and a little bit fun.
What you'll do
Teach private piano lessons to students ranging from beginners to advancing players, across ages
Communicate proactively with parents about student progress and engagement
Contribute to a positive, encouraging studio environment where students look forward to lessons
Build personalized lesson plans that meet each student where they are and push them forward
Participate in recitals and school events that celebrate student progress
Optional: teachers as also considered for cross-department opportunities, like our group piano class for elementary students (curriculum provided), our group piano class for kinder students (curriculum provided), our one to one preschool music program (curriculum provided), and one to one adaptive lessons with special needs students. These are not required, but the right candidate can work additional hours and gain experience in a variety of roles if desired.
Who you are
Experienced teacher preferred you've taught piano lessons or other educational roles and know how to keep students engaged and making progress. New graduates with strong musicianship and a desire to grow are welcome to apply.
Solid piano proficiency and a working knowledge of music theory
