What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rear End Driver position at Newsome ventures?
Overview
Responsible for escorting oversized or wide-load vehicles from the rear, monitoring traffic, communicating with the lead driver and truck driver, and helping ensure safe travel through highways, intersections, and other challenging road conditions. Must stay alert, follow all safety rules, and assist in protecting both the load and the public.
Duties
- Safely operate rear loader trucks, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) and state transportation regulations
- Transport solid waste materials from residential, commercial, and municipal sites using appropriate equipment such as front-end loaders and flatbeds
- Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, waste loads.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries efficiently
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license
- Defensive driving skills with a clean driving record emphasizing safety on the road
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to drive long hours
- Don’t mind being away from home for days at a time
