Job Position Description:

KRDO13, the ABC affiliate in Colorado Springs has an immediate opening for a Video Editor/Photographer.  This will primarily be a video editor role but will also include shooting video and conducting interviews in the field when needed.  This role requires someone who thrives in a high-pressure and a daily deadline-driven environment. The Video Editor/Photographer must be comfortable collaborating and communicating with multiple members of the news team each shift. This is not a remote position and requires flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays in the newsroom and in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Shoot and edit videos for newscasts.
• Run live shots for newscasts.
• Respond to breaking news and weather, gather video and conduct interviews.
• Gather information and relay to producers and newsroom managers.
• Represent the station. This includes responsible driving habits, professional appearance, and professional behavior “in the field” where news is gathered.
• Work with reporters to get the best possible video to tell each story with accuracy and maximum impact.
• Take care of company equipment and cars.
• Willing to come in when needed outside of regular shift.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by station managers

Required Qualifications: 

• Good driving record and valid driver's license.
• Experience shooting and editing video.
• A positive, team-player attitude each day.
• Must be able to work effectively in fast paced team environment. Must be able to carry 50 lbs. This job is physically demanding and will include driving, lifting, carrying, and walking in all weather conditions.

Annual Salary Range:

Starting at $39,000 based on experience. Non-Exempt.

KRDO13 is in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado, near the base of Pikes Peak, along the front range of the Rocky Mountains, and close to Garden of the Gods.
