Investigative Reporter
Our next News 6 Investigator will be joining a team of two Investigative Reporters and an experienced Producer, as well as a veteran broadcast journalist as your investigative coach.
What you bring to the role is a highly competitive nature, driven to uncover lead stories every week and not get scooped! You are skilled in developing trust rapidly with viewers and sources and are comfortable with a fast-changing workday. This role requires considerable experience analyzing complex documents. You must also be an expert in requesting records and doing research for the information needed to properly build out a balanced report.
While you will regularly partner with experienced photojournalists, you must be able to shoot and edit on your own from time to time. You understand how to take viewers behind the scenes to see your reporting process on camera. You’re also tech-savvy, so you can easily incorporate new technology, equipment and AI in your workflows. And you have a strong on-camera delivery that is clear, conversational and commands attention.
