What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technician position at Newrest?
Newrest IAH is looking for a technically skilled candidate with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT Technician. This is an on-site position that will support the organization at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all hardware and systems, to reach the organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with our outsourced vendor to maintain security (MFA, Antivirus, APEX micro trend, and firewall).
- Manage IT asset management (Computers, TV, Tablets & Printers),
- Partner with our IT support to install equipment on the Domain (Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and networks).
- Maintain internal email directory.
- Ability to work in a small team environment and communicate effectively.
- Partner with our IT support to support and troubleshoot any hardware and software issues (Internet, Server).
- Assist with the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred.
- Experience as an IT Specialist or similar role.
- Proficient in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Certifications in Network , Security , SSCP, Ethical Hacker are preferred.
- Familiarity with network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule depending on operational needs.
