Job Summary:
- Provides subject matter expertise and assist with day-to-day oversight of the billing cycle.
- Becomes proficient in all computer applications that support the billing cycle and ensures staff proficiency on these applications.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of the eligibility confirmation process to ensure timely claim resolution and reduce denials.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of daily and weekly billing that increases clean claims and reduces rejected claims.
- Manages all follow-up activities to ensure all claims are fully collected with no outstanding balances remaining.
- Reduces Accounts Receivable by increasing cash collections and reducing denials while meeting compliance standards.
- Ensures cash receipts are applied accurately and timely to all accounts.
- Identifies trends that impact billing such as held claims, rejected claims, denials, and other issues the prevent timely claim adjudication, and communicates these trends to the Assistant Vice President - Revenue Cycle.
- Actively participates or leads interdepartmental workgroups that improve or streamline revenue cycle processes.
- Ensures all activities of the billing operation are compliant with Federal and State payer regulations, guidelines and requirements.
- Provides billing support to other departments; provides timely reports and responses to Leadership.
- Assists with training, mentoring and day-to-day supervision staff; manages productivity and deadlines of the billing team.
- Provides and promotes excellent customer service.
- Additional duties as assigned or as needed to support departmental or organizational goals.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor degree or Medical Coding Certificate preferred.
- 5-10 years Medical, Billing and Collections experience including supervisory experience or a combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
- Thorough understanding of the revenue cycle billing adjudication process
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD10 coding
- In-depth knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Managed Care fee for service (FFS) billing and reimbursement.
- Knowledge of Electronic File transmittals/remits with Medicaid/Medicare EDI departments
- Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word &Excel)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize competing demands and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make independent decisions and accurate judgements for A/R, billing, and office duties.
- Experience using EVOLV system is helpful but not required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
