Building Engagement Facilitator QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Graduation from High School or possession of a GED. Bachelor's degree preferred. 2.
Good written and oral communication skills. 3. Knowledge of or the ability to obtain knowledge of the Newport community. 4.
Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse population and sensitivity to that population. 5. Bilingual English Spanish preferred. 6.
Competent user of computer technology including Google or Microsoft Office or the willingness to develop such competency. REPORTS TO: Building Principals, or his/her designee. JOB GOALS: To ensure the security of the school building and create a positive experience for guests/families when they enter the high school.RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that all exterior doors are locked and shut throughout the school day.Meet all guests at the main entrance and escort them to their desired locationsEnsure that students have proper documentation and consent when in the hallway.Observe and report any negative student behavior to the Dean, Asst. Principal and PrincipalBuild rapport with students and families to facilitate a positive school environment.Connect with the Dean around student discipline and events.Maintains a professional awareness of state laws, regulations, school committee policies and school administrative regulations regarding child welfare and school attendance.
Any task directed by the building principal or designee.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 184 days per year, follows school calendar,7:15am-2:45pm and potentially some non-standard work hours.
