Newport News Municipal Employees Credit Union is a medium sized credit union in Newport News, VA. We focus on developing relationships with our members to best serve their financial needs.
We are looking for a friendly and dependable teller to provide exceptional member service and help maintain our members’ accounts. The successful candidate will have banking experience and a passion for people. We are looking for someone with great customer service skills, who is also able to handle cash and make change. A strong attention to detail is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet members as they enter or leave the credit union
- Give members verbal and written instructions to complete tasks within their powers
- Collect payments and deposits from members
- Process cash receipts
- Check if all balances are up to date and alert the appropriate person if there are discrepancies
- Monitor the teller’s window to ensure that all balances are present, up-to-date, and correct
- Maintain an organized work environment
- Comply with all security and safety policies and procedures
- Communicate with supervisors and coworkers on a daily basis
- Inform management of member needs or problems
Skills
- Proven work experience as a bank teller or cashier
- Excellent knowledge of how financial institutions operate including the use of computers, 10-key calculator and other applications
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A professional manner and appearance along with courtesy and integrity
- A strong attention to detail is a must!
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
