Basic Function
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Warehouse, receive, prepare and distribute mail, materials, supplies, food and equipment to assure efficient operations; maintain related computerized inventory control records and prepare related reports.

Representative Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Receive, prepare and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, materials, supplies, food and equipment to various District locations; prepare and maintain routine records related to assigned activities.
Receive warehouse stock orders, pull, wrap and load delivery trucks; load and unload delivery vehicles; store materials, supplies and equipment in a neat, orderly and efficient manner.
Drive a vehicle to various locations along assigned routes to deliver goods; maintain cleanliness of vehicles; service and run safety checks on assigned vehicle.
Monitor and update computerized inventory control records as needed; perform periodic warehouse inventory activities; plan storage locations and utilize space efficiently.
Shelve and store items received in the appropriate section of the warehouse; place food items in racks, coolers or freezers as required; rotate perishable and nonperishable inventory as needed; assure food shipments are not spoiled or damaged.
Inspect shipments against packing slips and purchase orders; report damage, shortage or discrepancies.
Greet visitors and District personnel at the counter; receive and issue materials, supplies and equipment; coordinate maintenance materials for special projects.
Communicate with school and District personnel regarding the pickup and delivery of orders; communicate with outside vendors regarding pricing and status of orders.
Pick up and authorize supplies from the main District warehouse.
Maintain warehouse in a clean and orderly condition; maintain cleanliness of equipment.
Operate a District vehicle and a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies and postage meters.
Assist personnel in the completion of general maintenance duties.

VACATION – HOLIDAYS - ILLNESS
Employees accumulate twelve (12) days of vacation during the first year of employment, increasing up to twenty-two (22) days beginning the 18th year of service, prorated for part-time, 9, 10, and 11 month assignments. The number of paid holidays per year varies from twelve (12) to fifteen (15) days depending on the work calendar. Employees accumulate twelve (12) days of paid sick leave per year, with unlimited accumulation, prorated for part-time, 9, 10, and 11 month employees.
RETIREMENT
All employees who are in the classified service and work four (4) hours per day or more are members of the Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) and Federal Social Security. If an employee in the classified service works less than four (4) hours per day they are members of an Alternate Retirement System (PARS) and do not contribute to Social Security. Approximately 7% is deducted from your paycheck for PERS retirement.
