As General Manager, you will report to the Vice President and General Manager of the Instruments, Motion, Components and Vibration Control (IMCVC) Business. What makes this role exciting is that you will be vital to the success of the team and the business. You will accomplish this success through financial performance, business and technical interface to key OEM customers, OEM design wins and/or product life cycle management, sustained engineering and product management as well as quality, reliability and customer satisfaction. This role offers a hybrid work option for days on-site and remote. What you will do is: Set and implement the overall business strategy, with the objective of improving both market share and profitability. This includes meeting corporate objectives for profitability and growth and responsibility for the Components and Vibration Control (CVC) Business P&L. Own Opto-mechanical Components and Vibration Control product lines, including manual positioning, optical table, and vibration isolation systems. Lead the Business Unit consisting of Product Management, Business Development, Design and Engineering to support legacy products and to develop new solutions, and partner with Operations to transfer products to production Meet & exceed customer expectations for product performance, including quality and reliability, logistic, technology, costs and sustainability Meet & exceed customer expectations for continual reduction in cost of ownership Maintain exceptional knowledge of customer needs, which in some cases requires diligent relationships with OEM equipment design authorities What you will bring to the role and to our team are the following qualifications: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required, but an advanced technical degree and/or MBA is desirable 15 years of experience with mechanical/opto-mechanical component manufacturing and/or mechanical/opto-mechanical design, engineering and manufacturing 5 years of P&L responsibility Exceptional leadership and communications skills; extensive experience interacting with customers and within cross-functional or matrix organizations Travel approximately 10%-20% including international Position located in Irvine, CA with some option for part-time remote work.
