Boutique law firm's legal and financial team is look for a Tax Attorney, CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Enrolled Agent, to join our team. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, non-profit organizations, and high-net-worth clients.
  • Conduct detailed tax research to interpret current laws such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and securities law to ensure compliance.
  • Assist clients with complex transactions including mergers & acquisitions, asset management, private equity investments, and financial restructuring.
  • Analyze financial statements and reports to identify tax implications, ensure accuracy in financial report writing and interpretation.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements by reconciling accounts, preparing balance sheets, general ledger entries, and conducting account reconciliation.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, or other financial software to maintain precise records of debits & credits and double entry bookkeeping processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on auditing procedures, internal controls (including SOX compliance), budgeting, payroll processing, and financial analysis.


Qualifications:

  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent certification with proven tax experience in diverse sectors including public accounting or corporate finance.
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning strategies, wills & trusts law, securities law, and non-profit accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting concepts such as GAAP standards, double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with financial software tools like QuickBooks, or similar platforms for bookkeeping and financial statement preparation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial concepts including asset management, private equity investments, mergers & acquisitions analysis.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and conduct thorough financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SOX compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Strong communication skills for clear financial report writing and client advisement on tax planning strategies.
