Job TitleCentre of Excellence Engineer Location(s) AZ Gothenburg (Sweden) - Customer Site Job Description Job Summary: The Centre of Excellence Engineer provides highly visible, on-site customer support through installation, preventive and remedial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex laboratory equipment and systems. You will verify and approve the operational quality of system equipment, instruct customers on operation and maintenance, and act as the company's liaison on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. This role spans system hardware, software, PCs, networking/wireless networking, and laboratory instrumentation. It is a customer support role, not a research position, though scientific literacy is beneficial to understand lab processes. Key Responsibilities Preventive and corrective maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure uptime and compliance, documenting all work to quality standards. Troubleshooting and diagnostics: Systematically diagnose issues on complex electro-mechanical instrumentation and associated software/controls; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Installation and qualification: Install equipment and check out/approve operational quality; support IQ/OQ/PQ where applicable. Customer liaison: Serve as the primary interface with customer stakeholders on technical and administrative matters; interpret needs and coordinate with sales, customer support, or engineering as appropriate. Planning and coordination: Plan, schedule, and follow up with customers and suppliers on work status, parts availability, and timelines; ensure effective maintenance programs in a dynamic environment. Documentation and compliance: Maintain accurate service records, adhere to safety, GxP where applicable, and company/site policies. Knowledge sharing: Instruct end users on operation and maintenance; contribute to team know‑how and continuous improvement. Teamwork and autonomy: Work both independently and within small and large teams, taking personal responsibility for outcomes across a diverse instrument portfolio.
