POSITION: TEACHER (CLASSROOM)
TERM: Eleven month work year
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
- Valid CPR Certification as Issued by The American Red Cross or equivalent.
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in use of educationally appropriate technology.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide academic instruction to students.
- Implement student IEP requirements.
- Establish a class environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
- Help students develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education.
- Maintain good relationships with parents and other staff members.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain excellent attendance for contractual work schedule.
- Perform instructional duties in a professional manner.
- Provide specialized instructional needs to address students’ disabilities.
- Exercising authority in the classroom.
- Supporting student transition.
- Support non-academic programs of the schools.
- Enhance the educational environment and opportunities available at the schools.
- Maintain and enhance professional competency.
- Uphold and enforces school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Collaborate with other professional staff members to elicit the very best from students.
- Be punctual and prepared for all meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction.
