POSITION TITLE: Journeyman Tool & Die Maker
SHIFT: 1st and 2nd Shifts
PAY RANGE: $31/hr. - $32.55/hr. - (Based on skills and experience)
Primary Position Responsibilities:
- Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.
- Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
- Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
- Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates.
- Design, build, and maintain dies, jigs, and fixtures using machinist tools and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair tooling problems
- Set-up and operate lathe, mill, saws, and surface grinders
- Develop control process for die standards
- CNC equipment programming as required
- Able to read, understand and follow all ISO guidelines both 9000 and 14001
Essential Job Requirements:
· Must have a State Certified Journeyman Tool and Die certification.
- Must have at least 5 years of Die and Machining experience
- Troubleshooting experience
- Die repair/Die Troubleshooting and Machining experience - CNC
- MIG/TIG welding experience
- Strong computer knowledge (Plexus, Excel, Outlook, etc.) along with excellent attendance history
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Able to work overtime and weekends as required
- Knowledge of OSHA machine standards
