What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Lead position at Newman Group Search?
Sales Leader
Director of Sales
Commercial Sales Lead
We are working with a well-established insurance brokerage with a long-standing presence in the Northeast. As they continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced sales leader to join their team, based out of their Connecticut office.
In this role, you'll own the region's overall performance — building up sales talent, pushing revenue growth, and making sure clients get a top-tier experience every step of the way. You'll work side-by-side with senior leaders to bring key strategies to life, forge lasting connections with clients and carrier partners, and shape a strong team that carries the company's mission and goals forward.
Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor a team of sales producers, helping each one hit their individual numbers while the region hits its overall targets
- Handle the full talent cycle for the sales team — sourcing, hiring, onboarding, and hands-on coaching — while managing performance along the way
- Work hand-in-hand with senior leadership to bring sales plans to life in support of company-wide goals
- Fuel top-line growth by keeping existing accounts happy, hunting new business, expanding wallet share with current clients, and broadening what each account carries
- Keep a pulse on sales metrics and flag adjustments that push productivity and margins higher
- Cultivate solid working relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and colleagues across the organization
- Keep a finger on the pulse of the industry — market shifts, product changes, compliance updates, and new tech — so the team stays ahead of the curve
- Stay current on all licensing and continuing education needed to operate in the role
- Serve as a visible presence for the company through industry groups and involvement in the local community
