Job Description

The Technical Information Specialist provides regulatory and technical information to internal and external customers for the products manufactured and sold by Newly Weds Foods in accordance with government regulations and NWF Policies and Procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess and process customer requests for technical documentation efficiently and accurately in accordance with NWF policies and current regulations. Technical information includes, but not limited to, product specifications, allergen profiles, nutrition reports, GM statements, formulas, religious or dietary certifications, safety data sheets (SDS), customized response letters, maintenance of online portals, and customer questionnaires
  • Proficiently write compliant FDA ingredient statements, fully understand and apply USDA labeling regulations as needed, and be knowledgeable of retail food labeling regulation and guidance
  • Provide the highest level of expertise and technical regulatory customer service to customers, Sales, and R&D to commercialize and meet the marketing demands of new and existing products
  • Support continuous improvement activities associated with technical information requests and department objectives; coordinating implementation with Regulatory & Technical Information Systems (RTIS) Management
  • Analyze work performed and report to upper management the emerging trends in requests, potential areas of improvement , or risk/impact of the inquiries in respect to NWF policy & procedure
  • Review and maintain Raw Material databases for accuracy and completeness to support regulatory, technical information, and food safety initiatives
  • Review and document procedures as directed by RTIS Management
  • Provide training and presentations for NWF employees and customers as needed
  • Read, analyze and interpret food-industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Perform duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in food science or related discipline
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the food industry preferred
  • Strong analytical abilities, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective project management skills
  • Proven Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Excellent computer skills in word, excel, Lotus, AS400 or similar manufacturing IS, and web based platforms
