Job Summary:

Manages daily operations for the organization's logistics functions. Oversees implementation of warehousing, distribution, inventory management, or related strategies. Administers organizational logistics policies and standards governing the movement of goods or supplies. Implements changes meant to improve efficiency and reduce costs associated with the logistics function. Manages the Plant Purchasing, Scheduling, Warehouse and Customer Service Managers. Performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting manufacturing and logistics goals for customer orders,  insuring product delivery is met at all times at the facility, and communicating appropriately with senior, executive management and the sales force regarding appropriate budgeting and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

• Personnel Management and Leadership: This includes providing leadership, managing and developing a team of supervisors and employees, and addressing performance issues through coaching and discipline. 

• Production Planning and Operations: This combines planning, coordinating, and overseeing all daily production activities to meet labor standards, customer demand, and corporate KPIs.

• Safety and Regulatory Compliance: This combines ensuring a safe work environment, promoting safety initiatives, and maintaining compliance with all company policies, including food safety and regulatory requirements. 

• Financial and Performance Management: This consolidates responsibilities for managing departmental budgets, controlling costs, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and preparing performance reports for higher management.

• Maintenance and Operational Efficiency: This includes coordinating with the maintenance department to minimize downtime and drive overall operational excellence. • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Ability to give and receive thorough instructions and communicate effectively with management, supervisors, and other employees. 
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP's and Allergen Controls.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Prefer previous experience in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
  • Excellent Analytical thinking skills. 
  • Ability to foster teamwork
  • Strong Leadership and Interpersonal Skill
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a hands on approach.
  • Experience with BRC or SQF a plus
  • Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office and AS400 systems preferred

 

Work Environment: 

  • General  warehouse environment. The majority of the work will be performed in the warehouse where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of operating warehouse equipment.  
  • While performing the day to day tasks of this job the employee may sit or stand for long periods of time while using hands and arms to possibly handle and operate objects. Occasionally the employee will need to kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb. The employee will be regularly required to talk and listen to others. There is occasional to frequent lifting involved with objects weighing up to 60 pounds.physical demands described here.
