Position Summary
The Post-Hearing Disability Case Manager is responsible for managing Social Security disability cases after administrative hearings. This role focuses on tracking case progress, communicating with clients, and ensuring all necessary documentation and follow-up actions are completed to support favorable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Case Monitoring & Documentation
● Monitor and track disability cases following administrative hearings until a final decision is issued.
● Ensure all case files are accurate, organized, and up to date in case management systems.
● Review hearing notes, medical evidence, and legal documentation for completeness.
Client Communication
● Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status, expectations, and next steps.
● Notify clients promptly of decisions and explain outcomes clearly and professionally.
Post-Hearing Follow-Up
● Coordinate with attorneys, representatives, and administrative staff on post-hearing actions.
● Follow up with the Social Security Administration regarding case decisions and delays.
● Assist in obtaining additional medical records or documentation if requested post-hearing.
● Request post-hearing briefs or additional evidence to be written and submitted when applicable.
● Assist with appeals (e.g., Appeals Council) if claims are denied.
Work Environment
● Office setting.
● May involve managing a high volume of cases with strict deadlines.
● Frequent communication with clients who may be experiencing stress or hardship.
