Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned self-starter to support our Head of Finance as we continue to expand our operations. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience, preferably with a background at a top-tier accounting firm. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work directly with the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books using QuickBooks
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including vendor invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing
- Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including customer invoicing, collections follow-up, and cash application
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entry preparation
- Maintain and organize supporting documentation for all transactions
- Process and record payroll journal entries in coordination with HR/payroll provider
- Assist with preparation of sales tax filings and other compliance requirements
- Respond to internal requests for transaction history, documentation, and reporting
- Identify and flag bookkeeping errors or process gaps to the Head of Finance
- 5 years of experience as Senior Corporate Accountant or Director of Accounting in a corporate environment, CPA preferred
- Solid understanding of double-entry accounting and basic GAAP principles
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Experience with inventory or manufacturing accounting is strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
