Northampton’s neighborhood pharmacy, Newhard Pharmacy, has been a fixture in town since 1895. It was purchased from Aaron Newhard in 1969 by John A. Pavis and Peter J. Stahl. John J. Pavis bought out Pete in 2003 then his dad, Jack, in 2015. Together with his wife, Deborah, they run the retail, long term care, vaccination, durable medical equipment, and compounding pharmacy. This is a full-time on-site role for a Certified Pharmacy Technician Retail Operations Manager at Newhard Pharmacy located in Northampton, PA. The Operations Manager oversees Retail Technicians as well as managing the retail pharmacy. Their role encompasses supporting the pharmacist in the management of retail patients and their medications, including medication order processing, filling and dispensing medications, and inventory management. They will interact with patients and medical providers, as well as with other members of the healthcare team, and must possess excellent communication and customer-service skills.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) designation from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) as well as the state of PA.
- Experience in a long-term care or retail pharmacy setting
- Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems and software, including dispensing and billing systems
- Excellent knowledge of pharmacology, medical terminology, and prescription order processing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent, and completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program
